Mid-century Modern House I

New Canaan, CT

This home is a gut renovation of a well-known John Black Lee mid-century modern home (Rogers House, 1957). The exterior of the original home was preserved and augmented with a new a 4,000 sf master suite, gym and garage. The interiors were gutted and redesigned to create spacious, luxurious and transparent spaces filled with light and warmth.

This project was a design collaboration with JSA and Ampersand Archtitecture. Our team took JSA's orginal proposed design as a launching point. We reused their massing, reworked the interior layout, detailed and selected fittings/finishes and managed the construction and owner relationship. Ampersand Architecture is the Architect of Record.
