Essex Street Loft

Lower East Side, NY

The empty and raw penthouse on the Lower East Side was transformed into the ultimate space for entertaining.

The design of the 2,600 sf duplex reflects aspects of traditional Japanese country living and the industrial era, while providing access to every luxury modern city life can deliver. The complete buildout encompasses two floors, including a sunning terrace of the lower level and a roof deck fully equipped with a screening area and traditional soaking tub. Japanese-inspired greens and oranges were used throughout, along with stained bamboo accent walls, inset tatami and walnut flooring, and blackened steel.

This project was a collaboration with Ramon Ocampo and was featured in Interior Design by Amy Young. [PDF]
