New Canaan House

New Canaan, CT

Informed by the mid-century modern homes that New Canaan is known for, this new house has classically modern roots. Large expanses of glass were used to blur the distinctions between inside and out. The surrounding tree canopies and landscape function not as a backdrop, but as major component of the interiors. The U-shaped, two-level home is embedded into a hill and offers a direct connection and multiple paths to its surrounding hardscape and exterior spaces.
